Johnny Lee was born in Texas City, Texas, and is a member of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. In 1968, he began a 10-year working relationship with Mickey Gilley, at the World-Famous Gilley’s Nightclub in Pasadena, Texas. Lee’s first screen role was in the 1979 TV Movie, The Girls in the Office, starring Barbara Eden and Susan St. James. He was then asked to perform in the film, Urban Cowboy, starring John Travolta and Deborah Winger. “Lookin’ For Love,” from that Movie soundtrack, became Lee’s 1st Gold Record. The song spent 3 weeks as #1 on the Billboard Country Music Charts, and #2 on the Pop Music Charts, later becoming one of the Top 100 best Country Songs of all Time. His impressive career includes a string of Top 10 hits such as: “One in a Million,” “Bet Your Heart on Me,” “Sounds Like Love,” “Hey Bartender,” and many more. When not traveling and performing, Johnny can be seen on many celebrity hunting and fishing shows. As well as on RFD TV’s: Larry’s’ Diner & The Homecoming. Minden native Laynee Dell Woodward grew up singing and performing in Minden. Most recently, Ms. Woodward was employed by Salt Marsh Opera Company where she played the role of Clorinda in the company’s outreach opera, La Cenerentola. During her time in the Maryland Opera Studio, Ms. Woodward performed in numerous operas including Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, and many others. This special evening will include a variety of songs and styles – including a few Christmas favorites.

The evening begins with the reading of the “Polar Express” book by professional storyteller Mary Henning. At the conclusion of the storytelling, cookies & hot chocolate are served (along with a special appearance by Santa & Mrs. Claus). The feature film follows the refreshments. The event is geared toward families with children ages 4th grade and under. Children are welcome to bring their pillows and come dressed in their pajamas for this evening of Christmas magic. FLY is an all-male contemporary dance company from Houston, Texas known for its high-energy performances with clever staging to a variety of music, including classical, jazz, pop, hip-hop, experimental, drumming and live sound effects.
