Origami Workshop – “Folding Minden Together”

Saturday Mar 13, 2021 4:00 & 5:00 pm

FREE workshops available at 4:00 or 5:00 pm. Pre-registration is requested by calling 308-832-0588 or email

We are strongest together. Join us in creating a collaborative community artwork using origami – paper folding – to celebrate Minden. We invite you to join nationally award-winning paper artist Linda Stephen at an origami workshop for all ages. Perhaps you’ve seen her origami marching band artworks in the Minden Opera House lobby.

“Our Band” on display at MOH

Fold for history. Help create a legacy artwork. Artist Linda Stephen will incorporate hundreds of papers folded by Minden residents to create the origami mosaic cityscape “Community Unfolding in Minden.” Take a couple minutes to fold a piece of paper that will be part of a new artwork celebrating downtown Minden at Christmastime.

  • No paper folding experience required. Best for ages 3 to 103.  The easiest patterns are three folds. Help to make the hundreds of folded paper pieces into snow piles, streets or lightbulbs. Time: 1 minute to 15 minutes.

Fold for fun. Take home some colorful fun origami, too, for turning into a greeting card or small art scene. Join artist and illustrator Linda Stephen to learn how to fold a dog face, a windmill, a flower, or an ice cream cone out of paper.

  • All materials provided.
  • Masks required (and provided).
  • All ages are welcome. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
